Site Update for January

I've taken a little time to flesh out the site again. I had a request to post the clip art to the site again, so last night I rebuilt the pages and uploaded the clip art to the new server.

Clipart here.

The final touches to the catalog are on hold for a few days while I make a couple advertising deadlines in early February. I have to write the welcome and figure out what to do with the catalog cover, yet.

Catalog Progress

I've got a pretty good draft of the catalog completed and posted on the website. I didn't take time to proofread the text or pedigrees for spelling mistakes or tattoo number errors. Sometimes when I type too quickly I'll get numbers transposed or capital letters where they shouldn't be.

I have to complete the Welcome, General Information and Reference Sire pages, but the lotted cattle are present and for your review. I hope they don't load too slow.

New Server

Whew! I think we are back up and running. I decided to switch hosting services because I wanted to save a few bucks a month. Well, there was a little snafu that made everything go black for about 5 days. I'm not going to blame anyone because the root of the problem is really a machine's fault.

I am going to wholeheartedly recommend Logjamming.com for anyone looking for inexpensive web hosting. It is $5/month with 5 email addresses. It is pretty tough to get any web hosting or advertising for that matter for $60/year.

More on the catalog later...

Catalog Process Begins

We had extremely nice weather on December 23 to clip bulls for pictures. Unfortunately, the holidays are so busy that I have not had time to take any pictures, yet.

I will be checking the weather forcasts daily to find the right day for taking pictures. It has to be a sunny day to get the lighting just right so there won't be any shadows on the bulls.

In the meantime, I'll be working on the pedigree and EPD parts of the catalog in Adobe InDesign. After the pictures are taken, I'll finalize the lot numbers and finish laying out the catalog.
